SUMMARY:5th Annual Sedona Red Rockin Blues Festival
DESCRIPTION:Red Rockin Blues Festival 2025\n\nOpening the show from Tucson is Garrett James and The Wanderers! They are a young\, blues-rock band that blends the soulful grit of classic vinyl-era Blues with the raw energy of Cassette-Era rock 'n' roll. Garrett's young age defies his mature guitar work and vocals and in January\, 2026\, he and his band will be going to Memphis\, TN to represent NAZBA and the Southern Arizona Blues Heritage Foundation\, in the International Blues Challenge (IBC) Youth Showcase. \n\nNext up from Phoenix is JC and Juke Rockers. JC (John Chavez) and the band represented the Phoenix Blues Society in 2022 and 2024 at the Memphis IBC and is a recent Blues Hall of Fame (Arizona) Inductee. JC runs the Superstition Blues and Brews Art Festival in the North Phoenix area and his drummer\, Matt Indes is founder of the Phoenix Area Drummers Facebook Group that puts together regular drummer clinics\, featuring some of the best drummers in the world! \n\nNext up from Tucson is Black Cat Bones. Formed in 2004\, Black Cat Bones is a 5-piece Rockin' Blues band that continues to delight audiences with an eclectic mix of classic Rockin' Blues standards and original Blues/Rock compositions\, delivered by the soulful vocal style of founding member and lead singer Charles Pitts\, who also serves as the band's principal songwriter backed by a two lead guitar attack and a powerhouse rhythm section. The band's stage experience includes appearances at festivals\, as well as numerous club dates and performances at venues throughout the Southwest and on the East Coast. \n\nNext up from Cottonwood\, is multi-instrumentalist and recent Blues Hall of Fame (Arizona) Inductee\, Garry Segal\, Whether he is playing harmonica\, guitar\, or slide guitar\, you'll always see and hear a quality show from him. Garry cut his teeth mostly in the Northeast\, with his band Garry and the Moodswingers\, as a successful regional band and has been on the stage with some of the best in the business. \n\nClosing the show is one of Arizona's best Blues bands\, Big Daddy D and the Dynamites. This band has been in existence\, in a number of different configurations\, for over 25 years. Darryl Porras\, founder\, guitarist\, and recent Blues Hall of Fame (Arizona) Inductee has a large resume including a Memphis IBC runner up in 2022 as lead guitarist for the Cros Band. His band reflects his style which includes songs from the past Master's to more current Blues artists. Lead vocalist and also a Blues Hall of Fame (Arizona) Inductee\, Betty Jo Vachon\, brings the Blues grit to the stage with every song she sings. She makes connections with the audience with her charisma and style that many have described as passionate. Drummer Dr. Bob Sellani has an extensive resume both in Arizona and Florida and is an Inductee and Blues Ambassador of the Blues Hall of Fame (Arizona). Keyboardist\, Rick Mutter\, also was in the Cros Band that finished in second place at the 2022 IBC\, lays down the keys\, like it's nobody's business! And rounding out the current band on bass is the ever steady Scott Jeffy. You can see the band locally or out of town at the Page Balloon and Tucson Blues Festivals later this year.
