Unify Sedona and SIFF Present My Sunnyside Screening for Pride Month

Wednesday, June 3, 2026 (7:00 PM - 8:30 PM) (MST)

Description

Premiering to rave reviews at the recent Sedona International Film Festival, My Sunnyside tells the moving story of Allie, a trans woman, and Jo, a trans man, whose lives unexpectedly intersect and evolve into a profound love story rooted in resilience, family, and authenticity. As the couple navigates careers, parenthood, gender transitions, and the journey toward marriage, the film offers a deeply human portrait of love, hope, and belonging. At a time of increasing polarization and rising transphobia across the nation, My Sunnyside invites audiences to engage with a story centered not on politics, but on humanity, relationships, and the universal desire for connection and acceptance. “This film reminds us that behind every headline are real people, real families, and real lives,” said Tracey McConnell, Executive Director of Unify Sedona Verde Valley. “Pride Month is an opportunity not only to celebrate LGBTQ+ lives, but also to foster understanding, compassion, and community dialogue.” The screening is part of Unify Sedona’s broader Pride Month programming focused on education, inclusion, and building stronger, more connected communities throughout Sedona and the Verde Valley. Cost $10 per person.
