Planning Session: Sedona Retail Business Improvement District

Friday, September 12, 2025 (8:00 AM - 9:30 AM) (MST)

Description

The Greater Sedona Chamber of Commerce invites retail partners along the SR-179 corridor to join us in a planning session for a retail Business Improvement District.

Join us for a 90-minute session on September 12th, 8-9:30am at the Sedona Oak Creek Airport.

What is a BID? A BID stands for Business Improvement District. It’s a defined area—usually in a downtown, shopping, or tourism district—where businesses agree to pay an additional fee or tax (often assessed through property tax or a special levy). That pooled money is then managed by a BID organization to fund projects and services that improve the district.

Why establish a BID? This has been a very challenging summer for the retail sector, specifically those in tourism dependent economies like Sedona. We need to ensure we are attracting consumers who will enjoy the full depth and variety Sedona has to offer. We are a premiere destination with a diverse retail sector: art galleries, metaphysical stores, clothing boutiques, specialty shops, and plenty more.
