Sedona Symphony Concert: Discovery

Sunday, March 15, 2026 (2:00 PM - 5:00 PM) (MST)

Description

This exciting program traces a lineage of musical influence and rediscovery, from Baroque foundations to Classical brilliance. Emerging artist violinist Jacqueline Rodenbeck, a Tucson native and winner of the Sphinx Concerto Competition, is featured as soloist in Mendelssohn’s beloved Violin Concerto—one of the most radiant and enduring works in the repertoire. Gluck’s dramatic Dance of the Furies opens the program, leading into music that reflects Mendelssohn’s deep reverence for the past. The evening continues with a symphony by C. P. E. Bach, whose innovative voice bridged Baroque and Classical traditions, and concludes with J. S. Bach’s Orchestral Suite No. 3, a timeless masterwork that stands at the foundation of Western music.
