This vibrant program honors the nation’s 250th birthday with a sweeping musical journey through the sounds that define America—from bold symphonic works and Broadway favorites to jazz, folk, and patriotic classics. It’s a high-energy evening designed to inspire, uplift, and bring the community together. The program features iconic music by Copland, Gershwin, Bernstein, Rodgers, Sousa, and more, culminating in Ferde Grofé’s breathtaking Grand Canyon Suite—a cinematic tribute to one of our country’s most awe-inspiring landscapes, right here in our own backyard. With its vivid musical storytelling and rich orchestral color, this program captures both the spirit of the nation and the beauty of the American West.
Joining the orchestra is acclaimed local vocalist Abigail Fischer Earthshine, whose expressive artistry shines in selections by Gershwin and Copland, alongside Assistant Conductor Desmond Kin Siu leading this dynamic program. The evening concludes with a rousing audience sing-along of America the Beautiful, inviting everyone to lift their voices in a joyful, shared celebration.
