This position assists the Restoration Program by supporting riparian invasive plant management, erosion reduction, water quality monitoring, and wildlife corridor projects throughout the Verde watershed. The Restoration Assistant will support field crews, coordinate community science projects, and help deliver environmental education and volunteer stewardship activities.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Support restoration projects including riparian invasive plant removal, upland restoration, water quality monitoring, and wildlife corridor projects.
2. Coordinate and provide quality control for field crew projects including invasive plant management, erosion control, and habitat restoration.
3. Provide field support for restoration crews, including equipment maintenance and project logistics.
4. Coordinate with volunteer community scientists and contract crews on projects including Otter Spotter, BioBlitz, Gully Busters, bird surveys, vegetation monitoring, and water quality monitoring.
5. Assist in planning and coordinating restoration volunteer events such as MLK Day and Public Lands Day.
6. Lead environmental education programs for community members, school groups, and visitors.

23-hour work week with a combination of field-based work and a hybrid office/occasional remote work arrangement.
