When you step into this transcendental art gallery, expect your consciousness to expand. Honshin gallery features the creations of nine local Sedona artists in a variety of mediums, from symbolist and meditative paintings to fine jewelry, amulets, origami, 3D art, ceramics, sculptures, and more!

Honshin is an internationally acclaimed artist who was put on the world map through his 23-year collaboration with Thich Nhat Hanh, a colleague and peace activist, as well as Martin Luther King, Jr., renowned for his symbolic and meditative paintings that celebrate the merging of art, science, and nature.

Nicholas Kirsten-Honshin’s art and poetry reflect his experience with ancient Eastern spiritual practices and the philosophies of Christianity, Tibetan Buddhism, Zen Buddhism, and ancient Mesoamerican cultures. His work is a mythic amalgamation of ancient healing practices and the present trends in spirituality, science, and nature, resulting in a true fusion of East and West. His art is an expression of his personal journey —a mythic amalgamation of ancient healing symbols, practices, and current trends in spirituality, science, and nature. Profoundly influenced by the Northwest Mystic School, a legacy passed to him by his father, Daiensai Kuden Bonseki Dojin, and by the other acclaimed artists of this period, whose work he grew up surrounded by, Honshin sees art as a form of spiritual quest. Using painting, printmaking, sculpture, jewelry, and poetry as tools, Honshin intends to communicate the unity of consciousness and life of all things in the universe.

Honshin has won international recognition for his artwork and poetry, gaining most of his teachings from his artistic father and his father's colleagues.
